I take you back to a time of swords and samurai. This is feudal Japan in the early Edo period. The land is run by the Shogun, a powerful warlord who obtained his position, for better or worse, through victory in a long and bloody civil war. He is destined to unite all of Japan…so he believes. His name is Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu. He has shut his borders to outsiders, hoping to protect his country from Western cultural and political virulence…but little does he know…the real threat is already within his borders!

This world is the world and scene upon which Usagi Yojimbo, the Rabbit Ronin, walks the land. In fact, only anthropomorphic animals inhabit this world…that, and a menagerie of yokai, japanese supernatural creatures and fairies. Monks toting buddhist teaching and possessing the knowledge of magical sutras are here to protect the commoners. But for the real big baddies, they’ll need the hardened-steel, razor-edged daisho of the samurai!

This is also a world where honor is not simply important…it is EVERYTHING! We all hope to die an honorable death…at least those who follow the path of Bushido. To bring dishonor to your family does not just bring about shame and exile…it can lead to their deaths.

But there are those who use Bushido only as a front. Their true motives are for power and rule. For this threat dishonor will not stop them from making this world theirs for eternity!

Welcome to the world of Usagi Yojimbo!
